What does "utilities included in the rent" mean?

What it means is this:
Read the lease before you sign.
It will tell you what is included.

Lizzy
It usually means gas electricity and water etc but it is best to check with the landlord that it is all included.

Classy Granny
It means the price of utilities are included in the rent. Be sure you ask which utilities. There is gas, electric and water. Most rentals that include utilities mean gas and water but not electric

It means that when you pay your rent, you've also paid for your utilities. You will not be billed separately for any included utilities.

This can be a blessing and a curse. On one hand, you don't have to worry about paying multiple bills each month. On the other hand, there are certain circumstances where you might be asked to provide your latest utility bills to verify your residence. These are few and far between, but they do exist.

That means they pay for water, gas, heat, central air (or in some cases a window unit). all you have to pay is the rent and renters ins if you choose or have to have.

seebob
It means, that services such as water, gas, electricity, phone are included in the rent

it means the amount they quoted for rent includes all utilities. so you will pay that amount and won't have to pay for anything else like gas, lights, trash etc.

I'm a weird, ugly, and cute!
just what it says.. "utilities" like heat, electric, water etc included in the rent price. You don't pay them seperate

a.j.
that u do not have to pay electricity, water, trash. is already included in rent.

heating, water, electricity etc are included
ask them for more details because some utilities might be included and some might not be,

kat4kimi
It means that your water, electricity, gas, sewage are all included the cost of the rent.

Maple Leaf
You don't get a separate bill for electricity, water, sewage based on your usage. You can use all the electricity you want but you won't anything more than what you pay for rent, i.e. the predetermined amount you pay your lord.

Your electric, water, gas, etc...are included in the rent.

korn_star1981
That you don't have to pay for your own utilities, they are included in the amount you are paying for rent.

Utilities: water, gas, electric, sewer, trash, etc.

haitiangirl56
Ok, everyone's saying 'gas, electric, water, etc' but in my experience, it's just water, sewage, garbage.
You still have to do your own gas/electricity. But the property management pays for the other things.
