average ranges from 50-150K depending on sales, company benefits, and reputation.
some companies will charge bigger % of commision for advertising costs, overhead, etc. others will charge less, but the realtor will be responsible for their own ads, etc.
good money to be made, but lots of people trying to make it. being professional, attractive, well-spoken can gain you quick confidence in buyers, sellers, etc. especially if you already have had success in another career. for example, my father retired as an officer from the air force, and became a realtor, and now makes the upper end of the spectrum that i quoted. he was rookie of the year for every rookie realtor in the city that he worked and has grown every year, because he gained confidence by being well established before attempting to jump into real estate.

A realtor makes 3% on each side of a sale, so if they list and sell the same home they make 6% commission. Annual salary really depends on how many sales go through and close. Hope that helps ya =) |

The average Realtor makes a pretty average salary and on an hourly basis makes a low salary. Probably around $45,000 and for brand new agents around $25,000. Top agents can make $200,000 - $300,000. The top 1% over $1,000,000.
The 80/20 rule stands out here. It says 80% of sales is done by 20% of the sales agents which leaves only 20% for the other 80% of the agents. This is true in Real Estate. It is true in Insurance. It is simply true.
My wife and I form a real estate team and one month were surprised to learn our sales were 25% of the entire office of 100 agents. Brian Tracey , well known author on goals and selling, said one insurance company discovered their top agent surpassed the combined total of the 50 agents on the bottom. |

Realtors work on commission. That means that they make a small percentage of the total amount they sell.
If a Realtor works in a market where all of the houses cost $30,000 they won't make a huge amount of income. On the other hand, if they sell a house a week in a market where the houses cost in excess of a million dollars, they can get very rich very quickly. |
