They can put a lien on your house, and if the debt becomes large enough, they can take your house.
It doesn't matter how much you use the trail, you agreed to pay your share of the fees by purchasing a house in that association. If you don't want to pay the fees, then move to a house that's not part of a home owners association. |

Association fees are debts like a mortgage and the association can lein your house if you don't pay. They probably also charge interest or fees on late payments. Check your CC&R's for details. |

It depends on how the association law is written but they can normally put a lien on your house and add interest and penalties to the pay off amount. When you sell it would add up to a very large amount. |
