Legally... they can take you to court, file papers, and get their money that way.... If you are already out of the apartment, sometimes if you weren't behind too much, the landlord considers it worth the loss to have you out of the apartment... just don't hope for your security deposit back..... A lot of the time the landlord will sue, but where i live they are just glad you are gone... |

They'll sue in small claims court. They can't garnish your wages for it in TX -- only taxes and child support can be garnisheed in TX. And they can't touch your tax refund in ANY state. |

It RUINS your credit- I've been through it. They'll take you to court and they'll get a judgement, and it's worse if you don't go- they automatically get what they're asking for. Then, they will either decide to take money from you, or garnish your wages, from which there is no escape- they take 25% of your gross until the judgement is paid. |

lets see they will take u to court (you wont show up bc they have no forwarding adress) and then u wont be able to tell ur side and u will be held to the full terms of the lease and they will put it on ur credit report as a bad tennant and that you were evicted and they will start garnishing ur pay until ur debt is repaid. good job screwing urself. shouldve spoke to landlord before u cowardly moved out. |

They can garnish your wages and take your taxes...it is breaking a contract and in the contract that was signed you agreed not to...they can also take you to court and make a formal complaint to get paid what they are intitled to + court costs and pain and suffering...it's not good...it will also make it harder for you to get an apartment in the future |
