What is better a condo or apartment?
I am looking for a home near my collage and there is an apartment and condo for the same price but which should I get if I live alone, no pets, and am moving to Austrilla after 2 years of collage

You should get an apartment. A condo is bigger and nicer but its more for a long term home. But if you would like the style of a condo better then go for it. They may try to weasel you into signing for longer though... Best bet would be an apartment. Its perfect for a college student...:)

Condo's often come with laundry inside, which is a great benefit. Apartments tend to have bigger balconies, and compared to modern condo's around here, more space. Otherwise it's 6 of one... you need to look at each one individually and decide which you like best, whether it be a condo or an apartment.

Condo, you can build some equity in your home, possibly sell it for more than you bought it for. An apartment, you pay rent and get nothing out of it when you move.

I would choose the safest neighborhood. A cheap condo may be in a bad area.

Amaya
Well since it's two years, which ever makes you happier. If they are the same price compare them like square feet, how many baths, how big the rooms are, etc. That's really the only way to determine which is better.

cheercobras2
i would get a condo thery are better and it depends if you you want to rent or own but condos are much better

confuscious
First of all it's college.. second of all, where is Austrilla? and third of all, condos are usually much more costly than apartments so if you found a really cheap condo you should probably check it out first.

lily
if you're moving after 2 years, you should go with the apartment

if you want to live there for permanent then apartment, but if you just want to live there for temporary then it would be best to buy a condo.

★Faith★
I don't know the difference but I say condo.

I would have to say the apartment, for your case. The prices have been increasing on the dues. Then you must sell your condo afterwards, while we have at least 10 out of 12 condos for sale, still after a whole year.

if its a fair price for you,I agree with the rest of the answers, the condo, more comfortable,no pet or noise around while you study, its just the right place,..to bad in florida i can't find a great deal like that

duh of course condo more room.

whats the difference?

It sounds like you'll be renting the condo or apartment. Check them both out. If you move into a condo with mostly owner occupied it will be a little safer, fewer transients and the owners take care of their places. Apartments don't usually want to put money into upkeep.

Assume you are talking about renting, right?

If it were me, I'd go with the condo. Because you'll be sharing the community with owners, and they tend to be a quieter bunch, and get mad with neighbors who are noisy.

However, if you are a partier, go with an apartment.

helprhome
I am confused by the same price statement-it really isn't true! If your real question is which should I rent... then that's a different story. I'm guessing that the apartment complex will have more amenities than the condo. It will also be louder. People who own their homes as condos are a bit quieter so if you are serious about studying then the condo is the right choice for you. If you are in college for the social opportunities the apartment is a better choice. See the difference? I hope you choose the condo and do well in your studies. Either way good luck.

Definitly a Condo, because it's comfortable. Apartments seem more "closed in" if you ask me. It depends on which one you'd feel you'll like more for 2 years. good luck! =)

if their the same price than condo
except some appartments give you free hydro, condo's dont.
remember that
