in my opinion Realtors make to much using that method when you own a more expensive house for the same amount of work
however i believe the bigger the percentage the better chances your house will sell before others because when Realtors print out available properties they will pick the ones with higher commissions to show first |

In South Carolina there is no average. Every fee is negotiable. If someone asks me to sell their home for even 1% it is up to me to either accept it or decline it. I don't know what the laws in other states are but it is even against the law here to discuss standard or normal fees. |

it is actually illegal to talk about broker fees, ha stupid laws, the best thing you can do is call other brokers and see if they differ and what you get for your money, how much and what type of advertising, how many of there homes sell in 120 days, how close they get to asking price on there listings. basically find out what you are getting for your money and find out who has the best price. |

6% is customary in Fla. You can negotiate the rate. You can even list the property for a flat fee and pay no listing agent commission. Be sure your listing agreement provides that the commission is not earned until the property closes. That way if the buyer defaults on the contract, you are not responsible for the commission. |
