Zillow has some data for houses that have sold, the problem is it uses that data to interpolate what other houses in same area might be worth based on those sales without input on improvements to those properties. I have found the values to be off by considerable amounts.
Contact a local real estate agent and ask, they will be happy to give you the accurate data for any area you are interested in. |

The county public record is one source, however it is not updated for 3 months sometimes. And it doesn't show if there was seller closing help. The best source is a real estate agent. She can access the MLS records on the sold houses and comps. |

If it is a specific house you are looking for -- check the tax assessors office for the county where the house is located. Many counties are on-line now. It is public information.
When ever I see a house in my neighborhood has sold- this is what I do to see what they got for it. That way, I can have a realistic idea of what my house may be worth. |
