What is the value of buying a trailer park home? Would the value increase like a house? |

Depends on what kind of lot you put it on and where it is.
For example: Trailer park in the desert will not gain any value...a lot by the ocean...priceless ;-) |

There's no one value, it depends on the mobile home and what the seller is willing to sell it for.
A mobile home does not usually increase in value the way a house does. |

you get a lot of room for less money, no they do not increase in value |

No, sorry, it won't. Unlike buying a standard home, trailer homes will actually devalue. |

It's just cheap housing. It's not very sturdy, doesn't last anywhere near as long as a house, and the value actually decreases over time. The only two good reasons to buy a trailer are (1) you can't afford anything else, or (2) It's temporary. Like if you're going to live in it on your own land while you build a house. |

No, they are like mobile homes and campers. They would not increase. They are not built like stick homes and since they can be moved on wheels, they just aren't made as well. I'm not being a snob, I've just had experience. Now, if you set up the park type home on a nice lot, with driveway, front porch, etc., you could possibly sell it at a profit and include the land and all the improvements. |

Generally speaking the value of buying a trailer park home is that they are relatively inexpensive compared to a house. However, the do not increase in value like a house. You would be lucky to get your money out. |

It's like buying a car it looses money every year. Mfg home never gains in value if its in a trailer park. If you own the land the land would increase in value only and Mfg home looses every year. |

No,
Not only will it go down in price as soon as you sign papers, but after some time there is a stipulation on the year of the trailer, it may have to be moved.
Above this you have to rent the property your trailer is on.
Fine if the trailer is in a retirement community or a community that is offering something, or if you just need a cheap place to live (sometimes not all that cheap either!).
Walk no run away!! |

My bf is an experienced carpenter, i've always heard that trailers, unlike a house, depreciate in value and are a horrible "investment". |
