In Norfolk, VA, it looks like an average apartment goes for around 600 dollars per month. If you look on rent.com, you can compare listings that have the same features as the ones you're offering and figure out what yours is worth.
I would probably charge around 300-400 if it is just a bedroom in the house, but that is up to you. Definitely look on some apartment and house listing sites to compare, but that would be my guess for shared living. People don't want to pay more than this if it doesn't give them the freedom to live in their own space, which since it's just a lodger, they probably won't have too much of. |
