♥Denise♥ | What would happen? |
What would happen if i moved into an apartment that doesn't allow animals, but i keep my cat and move her in with me?
The only place i can afford right now is one that doesn't accept animals :( and i cannot get rid of her. I trim her nails so she can't scratch anything, and she is fixed so she can't spray.
Could i get kicked out if i get caught with her there? |

Yeah, You Could Get Kicked Out... But Hell, If Your Complex Is Large Enough, They'll Never Notice. They Shouldnt Be In Your Apartment Without You Being There Anyway. KEEP YOUR PET! |

Sure you can be kicked out, and sued for all new carpeting, and window treatments. You not only violated the lease but you committed fraud when you signed on your rental application that the information was "true and correct". I am sure there was a question on there about pets.
Be a decent person and be HONEST. Either have no pet or rent from a landlord that does not care. But do not be a lier. |

People do it all the time. I wouldn't worry about it too much just try to keep her on the down-low. I gave up pets before because I was told we couldn't have them but come to find out all our neighbors that couldn't have one either did. Just sneak her in, I'm sure if she's not bothering anyone no one will complain. =)
edit: after reading the other answers...yes you can get kicked out for "violating the lease" but the chances are slim to none. I've been there and done that hundreds of times and the worst they actually ever did was try to start charging me $40 a month for my cat, but I doubt they would take it as far as kicking you out!! |

The one who knows

Yes you can. Good Luck! |

yes you can and could be sued for any damages done by the cat.
Check your lease, some places allow you to have a pet for an extra pet fee. |

Yes you could get kicked out for violating the terms of the lease or rental agreement.
Look into getting an insurance policy to cover any damage which the cat might do. Some landlords will make an exception if you have such a policy. |

If that is specify on your lease you totally could. If you have no lease than it will be hard/
It sucks sorry. |

Your "right" to occupy a space legally is spelled out in the lease agreement. If that agreement says your occupancy is subject to the terms "no pets" then you are in violation of your lease and it can be cancelled and you (and your cat0 can be evicted without recourse.
It (the lease) is called an agreement, or an understanding, or more to the point, your word. If you break your word you break your lease ...and all bets are off.
You seem to feel that your "pet modifications" will be sufficient to slip under the terms of the lease but there is MORE to the premise of the lease then just YOUR cat. How about MY dog and his desire to PEE on the eucalyptus bush or crap in the middle of the side walk, or maybe Mary's 22' Python that gets loose and kills a small child---or even MY dog. How do you fix THAT from happening?
No PETS means NO PETS. Not FIXED pets, or quite pets, but NO PETS. |
