Find out if maybe it was closed by accident (I had that happen once), or if maybe your outdoor key (to get into the building) opens it. If s/he won't let you use it, and your lease says that you have access to onsite laundry facilities, then check to see if there is a landlord-tenant board in your city and find out what your options are.

First re-read the lease and remember that it governs then check out the link and look at the laws in your state. Ask the landlord how you should be washing your clothes now? (nicely) Finally check the white pages under your city name for landlord tenant relations and see if they have a committee or board or what! Good Luck. |

If your lease state that you would have access to a washer and dryer. I would call the landlord and ask he/she why it was lock and if they will be compensating you with a lower rent payment. But remember be nice! You catch more fly with honey than vinegar. |

I would definitely want to find out what the reasoning was behind this. As long as you pay your rent, and that is included......it should be available. Unless, it is in need of repair? But, even so, there should be a note given out to all of you, plus a note on the door. Just find out, why? |

OMG!!!! I would be finding out what is going on!! We lived in apartments....there were 43 or so.....we had 3 washers and 2 big dryers. That was hard........I feel your pain!! |

Hmmm, there should be a notice on the door,
as to why it is locked. If not I would try to find out if the machines where usable? Also, as a courtesy,
why no post on the locked door ?
If I just had to do laundry now, I would seek out the nearest laundry matt, if it wasn't dark, & do it there.
Otherwise I would go back to my apt. & relax.
No big deal !! Right ?? ~~~ Stuff happens !!!
If there is something you need tomorrow, wash it by hand. ~
