Since I grew up in California and now live in New York, I can tell you that, as someone said before, it depends where you live. NYC is RIDICULOUSLY expensive with studios the size of a common bathroom going for over $1000 a month. I never saw one that bad in California...but who knows.
Also, the people in NY are not as pleasant to live with as the people in CA. The weather here sucks horribly in comparison as well.

its like this new york not to put nyc down but its crowed and there some wat trouble there unless u live in manhatten or where the rich snobs live and california its more spread out here and not as hot as nyc and it depends where ur gonna live to sacramento the capitol city of CA its buliding up and it has lots of houses on sale and the weather is good and that also depends where u live San fransico barely gets hot at all but its also rainy but mostly do u want a crowed place where u may or may not see celeb or live in cali where u can actaly see sometime a celeb here and there and its spread out more its up to u |

New York City is the most expensive but as you get into areas like Albany or buffalo of course they will be cheaper than areas in California we have to be comparing apples to apples. city to city, area to area, value of homes and so on |
