jeninhavvaii | When apartment complexs get complaints what is the most common action taken? |
I want to speak to the manager of my apartments to complain about noise and guests loud late at night. I just moved in november 1st. The apartments I live at have rules that no loud noises can be made between 10pm and 10am ... my neighbors are loud almost every night after 10 ... how can I approach this situation so that something actually gets done as opposed to the manager saying she'll do something about it but wont .. |

You signed a contract and the place has rules. You have verbally contacted the manager and the situation has not be resolved. Put it into writing to the manager informing the situation has not been resolved and cc the owner/office of it. If they fail to resolve the issue, then write them asking since they cannot enforce the published rules, you want to be released from your rental contract and all deposit returned. If they refuse to enforce the rules and refuse to release you from the contract with deposits returned 100%, contact an attorney. |

You skip the manager and call the cops. They will give a warning and then a citation if things don't get better. |

that is the joy of apartment living....tolerance. all you can do is speak to the manager and hope she does something. Or call the cops but you will probably only succeed in your neighbors purposely doing things to agrevate you. |

You don't describe "loud." Everyone has different tolerances. Do they have cause to know they are "loud" to you? Have you asked the other neighbors their opinion? Have you let the offending neighbors know? |

I live in apartment and I know the awkward position of dealing with noisy neighbors. You can mention to the main office that the neighbors are being to loud. After a few complaints the office may send a notice to the tenant reminding them of the noise rule. You can also call the police and they will most likely issue a citation if they bother to come out at all.
Just a thought, I have also been the victim of a neighbor who complains about EVERY noise starting at 10:01. Just use good judgement and remember everyone pays rent there! :-) Good luck , it is a tough situation |

I am very sensitive to noises late at night but I HATE going to the neighbors directly. I usually start by leaving a note on their door...very nicely explaining the situation and asking them to keep it down during those hours. If that doesn't work you can only work with your building manager. It might help to tell the building manager that if they can't assist you next time its so loud late at night (say you need your sleep for work or school) then you will be forced to call the police. No building manager wants the police to visit their building....
I sympathize with you...I've been exactly where you are...good luck! |

usually they give a warning, but depending on how many complaints they are they could kick them out. it all depends on how many complaints and how nice your landlord is. im not sure how to say something about it to your manager, but try telling the actual people who are making the noise. then if they dont talk to your manager face to face about the problem. maybe get some other epople in the apartment building to go with you and back you up. |

Talk to her about and ask her specifically what measures shes going to take. If she does not get the situation under control then that is a breach of the contract on her part. If this happens consult with a lawyer. |

ok well first go to your neighbors who are making the noise and ask politely. Proper courtesy is the best way to go. If they are rude about it and still go on being loud, keep complaining to the manager. if that doesnt work go ape **** on there asses. Be furious but avoid cursing hahah scare them a little say you'll call the police or something |
