no you can't...it's called conflict of interest..as much as it would make sense and be quicker..your solicitor has to be completely impartial...my advice would be to use a solicitor nearby..then the correspondence will be quicker.. |

In the UK it is not advisable or legal as it represents a conflict of interest.Other countries however do.We purchased a place in Cyprus and were advised to find an independant solicitor and were surprised when the seller turned up to complete the purchase with him.It was all very informal,efficient and quick,not all the long drawn out hassle you have over here!Would be much better to do that here,it would save weeks,money,and stress for both parties. |

It is within Law Society Rules that the same Solicitor cannot be used for both Clients. The buyer and seller must have separate solicitors. This is in the best interest of all involved with a completely impartial view on all aspects of the process. |
