The place i am in at the moment i pay the rent on the 18th of every month. On 18th June i am giving 1 months notice as i am moving and at the new place i am going to continue to pay the rent on the 18th of every month - if i move into my new place on the 18th of july, when do i pay my last months rent at my current place? You pay one month ahead, correct? Then your last months rent should be delivered with your notice on June 18th. Your landlord should return your security deposit within two weeks of your move out along with a letter explaining why he kept any of it (if he does). Good luck!
Edit: You will need to save money for June's rent for the current house, along with your security deposit for your new place, along with July's rent. |

You pay the rent at your current place when it's due or else they can assess you a late fee.
Give them a 30-day written notice...take TWO copies...have them sign both...you keep one, and they keep one.
Take pictures of the place after you have done final cleanup...do not do a walk through without someone present. That way there won't be any surprises. |

If you paid one month ahead when you first put your deposit , then June 18 would be it. However, if you did not put one month advance and are not always one month ahead, then July 18 would be your last payment. Your lease papers should show all if you can't remember. |

30 days advance notice of termination of lease (and 1 month payment). You already paid a month in advance when you moved in. This should be sufficient even if you have an air tight lease. Thats all the law requires.
So to answer your question, June 18th should be your final payment unless your on month to month. In that case your already paid until June 18th. |

I would say it depends on if your landlord is trustworthy. Technically, you do pay for the upcoming month, so you would pay June 18th to stay through July 18th. But if you have a security deposit and aren't sure if he will give it back, don't pay on June 18th, and tell him to keep the security deposit instead. He will not like that, but he can't cheat you then. But you can't trash the place either!! :) This isn't the morally, legally right way to do it, but it is the best way to be sure you don't loose your security deposit and he can't evict you (at least in my state) until you are further behind in your rent than just a couple weeks/a month. |
