Usually,besides being only 2 units per building,a duplex has a front and back door.Also some have it's own hot water heater.Some have a small backyard if they are a single story. |

A duplex that I have seen looks like a small house that connects to another small house. Two houses on the same lot. But usually the floor plan is the same except flipped over. The floorplan you want is, for example, open the front door and here is the livingroom (same in the other unit), now turn left to get to the bedrooms (in the other unit you may have to turn right to get to the bedrooms) and so on. You get the drift now, I'm sure. In an apartment situation the floorplan may be just the same. I don't know. Happy looking!! |

i dont know what a flat is,but i live in a duplex which means one building with 2 sides to live in--not true about the one door my house looks like a normal house with 2 doors out front, each side looks the same but opposite set up once inside |

It's basically a house that is split into two units. You will also find a fourplex which is a house that is split into 4 units. After the four units, I think it becomes an aparment complex. Not sure on that, but I think so. |
