When you buy a home, what are the estimated monthly payments?
I'm simply browsing through real estate pages and am looking at a house that sells for over $900,000. Starred is the monthly estimate payment at $4201.64. Is this the total for water, electric, heating and etc bills per month? That's rather much in my opinion if that's the case.

I'm sorry, I'm young. I still live with my mom, so I don't know much about this stuff. I'd be delighted if ya helped me out!

When they say estimated payments, that would be principle, interest and estimated taxes and insurance. Utilities such as water, gas/electric, cable, etc. are not included in that figure.

That $4200 monthly payment would probably be just the PI in PITI (Principal, Interest, Taxes & Insurance) This would not include Utilities

No. That is only the payment for the loan. You would still need to pay taxes, insurance, water, electric and heating.

That's just the loan payment, sweetheart. It IS 900,000 dollars you know.

No, that monthly estimate does NOT include utilities. It is simply the monthly price for the mortgage payment (the loan you take out to purchase a home). $900000 is what they are looking to sell that home for, not how much its' bills cost. (However, a home that is selling for $900000 is also probably huge so its utility bills would be substantially higher than say, a home that costs $100K).

Let me just say that it is also just an estimate. The actual amount you would pay for the home would depend on whether you paid asking price, above or below asking, what interest rate you get, and how much the property taxes and homeowner's insurance are.
