Where can I get cheap moving boxes?
Not in a grocery store though...

1) Go to a liquor store and ask for wine boxes. They are built strong to keep the wine safe, plus many have partitions in them that you can use for glasses, etc.
2) Go to your office or a copy center and ask for paper boxes. These are also built quite strong since paper is really heavy for its size. Many of them also have lids.

Good luck!

Liquor store

try a liquor store. boxes are more uniform shape than grocery boxes. boxes are pretty strong, too, because used to carry heavy glass bottles.

Go to McDonalds.

The Fry boxes are a great size, and they are more than willing to unload them.

And because the food is all wrapped in plastic, the boxes have no odour to them... That's where I got all my boxes for my last move and it was wonderful having almost all the boxes the same size. The lettuce boxes worked wonders on my linen closet!

Try craigslist.org. There is always someone giving boxes away.

Jester
try local fast food places, they have some really good boxes for moving

Greyone99
Walmart sells standard moving boxes of decent quality. They are big, reliabe and not too pricy. Check their stationery section.

A small or mid-sized law firm, or a records-keeping center (i.e. Iron Mountain), or a document printing store or a Kinko's, or a office supply store like Staples or Office Max.

Only problem is that you won't get a bunch of large boxes.

jonathon1011
Go to Costco or Sears, they're always throwing boxes away. Besides, they're huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge! Good luck.

look behind a big grocery store. i found tons behind safeway and albertsons.

We got ours behind a strip mall near our house. The businesses had a bunch of folded up big boxes ready to be thrown out. They were free and we got ones from office chairs, sewing machines, and other office equipment, which were very sturdy. The businesses were glad we took them.
