There is no such thing as 'renters rights'. You will need a copy of your state's laws relative to renting, landlord/tenant relatioinships and the like. Any and all 'rights' you have are spelled out in law. |

Contact your local Housing Authority. It should be in the BLUE pages of your phone book. It is a government listing.
You can also find it on your state or city's website. Just search 'fair housing' on the sites.
There is also a quiet enjoyment law that applies no matter where you live. You should research that as well. It basically mean that you have the right to live peacefully in your dwelling. If there is a disturbance that your landlord can control, then he/she is in violation of that law. Something like construction across the street is not controlled by the landlord and not covered by the law. |

Your state's department handling real estate business licenses may have it or direct you where to get it in your state. |

As you can see, it is much easier to find information on renters rights than it is if your a landlord. Be careful with someone else's property, treat it better than your own, because one day you may own a place or two yourself and when you rent one out, your not going to like the troubles involved. |
