I'm thinking about relocating. I'm paid a lot of money and have a ridiculous mortgage, too. The pressure's not worth it for the stress of my work. I'd like less money to stretch further and I want to simplify my life. Where can I find data on lowest overall cost of living? Or, just tell me where to go? Cheap house, small town (preferably) where everyone knows everyone. Something entirely different from the DC Metro Area? |

Sounds like you are looking for Maybury.I believe the cheapest is Arkansas, but you had better take a visit to the area you plan to move, you might not like it, most people move out of these areas
for a better life in the city. |

Alaska, virtually no taxes (if any) just have to deal with six months of winter and six months of spring type weather. Seems like a good deal to me! |

Find a job in Pittsburgh PA (they have great careers there , fabulous universities and great hospitals).
Now don't live in Pa for the taxes are awful. Live in Northern Wv or Eastern Ohio and commute in around 30-40 minutes. You would love it up this way.
Jump online and look at homes and what their taxes cost in Oh/Wv. See what the careers pay in Pittsburgh. |
