Sittingborne! I was there last week. It takes 1 hour on train to get to london victoria. Redrow are doing one bedroom homes in sittingborne for £63K (on their notice board on development but not on website).

Website here....but ring and ask.....as prices on web are around £80k but bill board prices were £63K.

Sittingborne is in Kent.....and it is really lovely. Nice Area. E-mail me if you want more information.

Jake, the cheapest place I know of is Dagenham in East London. There are some very nice areas where the average house price would be approx' £200.000. There are plenty of cheaper properties if you don't mind living on the council estate. Alternatively try Elm Park or Romford. Both within easy reach of central London.

Hi ya.Walthamstow is still relatively cheap in comparsion to the surrounding areas. This is mostly due to a somewhat gritty reputation, however it is up and coming all the time. A lot or infratsructural improvement, good train line links, and other things like fab little cafes, restuarants popping up. It has ome on massively since i moved to east london 6 years ago - its a different place. But people are beginning to suss this, as the olympics will increase the value of this area too. So if i were you i would move on this pretty swiftly. Good luck!

South London - around Crystal Palace is pretty cheap, as is Tottenham and parts of East London, like Barking, Dagenham etc.
