Dont worry Richmond is a nice clean area. its very expensive though If you can afford it go for it I would love to live there. Instead i live just down the road. Ham is a pretty area and Kingston is cool and very lively loads of pubs clubs by the river. If you need a cheaper area you might try looking in roehampton or sheen or even twickenham. Twickenham also had loads of pubs and full of students but its not as nice as Richmond. Whatever you do dont move to hounslow or isleworth its horrible. Good luck with the move
