Where to look for realators?

You can always call the National Realtors Association. They will give you a list of qualified realtors in your area, or the area you want to move into. B.

Best way is to get a personal recommendation from someone you know who has recently bought or sold.

Just like any other business, there are good realtors and bad ones. A good one can be a life-saver (whether you're buying or selling), and a bad one can be a nightmare. Interview several, and don't sign anything until you feel really comfortable with the person. If you're a buyer, and one talks you into signing a buyer broker agreement (which you DON'T have to sign), if that realtor turns out to be bad, don't be afraid to tell him/her that things aren't working out, and you want to be let out of the agreement. Most will respect this, or at a minimum, you can find someone else from the same office to work with you who may be better.

If you can't get a personal recommendation, go on Realtor.com, and you can find one that way. Remember - interview several, and don't be afraid to change realtors if you're not satisfied.

What area are you in? Personal recommendation is best. If you can't get a recommendation your local MLS should have a website where you can search the REALTORS in your area. Or you can go to http://www.realtor.org/rodesign.nsf/pages/FS_FREALTOR?OpenDocument and search the NAR database for your area.

Stand on a street corner and yell, "I need a realtor" and they will mob you. Honestly, when we were looking to buy/sell we had people giving us business cards in restaurants, at PTA meetings, etc.

Honestly, go with a recommendation from a friend.

Alternately, drive around the neighborhood you want to buying in and look at who's name is on the most 'for sale' signs.

www.realtor.com is the best.

Try the yellow pages in your local telephone book or try the listing on the internet for your location - good luck!@

My suggestion would first be to get approved for a mortgage. It is easier for an agent to help you out if they know what your qualifications are. IE how much you can get approved for, what you can afford.

A really good website to browse local real estate/real estate agents is: http://www.idxbroker.com/news/256_IDX,_Inc._Introduces.php

just click on your state and you can check out local agents/homes/rentals without having to contact the realtor first.

It's really easy to navigate and is full of info about realtors with links to their personal websites. Most of their websites will have all the available homes/rentals in the area along with community info, so you can do some research before you contact anyone. Hopefully that works for you. Good luck!
