I grew up in Tampa and now live in Orlando.... It depends on what you are alooking for... Tampa has a more stable population base... Orlando is more transient....
I would say Tampa over Orlando... If you pick Orlando I would suggest living in Downtown, if you pick Tampa, I would suggest living as far from downtown as possible |

Tampa...its central Florida..easy to South Fla..less congested than Orlando...not as touristy...and Orlando is only about an hour away...Major league baseball, NFL football..NL Hockey...life is good..oh yeah..and I live there lol |

well.. I'd say Tampa. I think Orlando is more expensive, but right near Tampa is Clearwater, very nice, the famous white sand beaches.. awesome. Orlando, is pretty too, but I think the crime rate is elevated in Orlando vicinity... I lived in Clearwater 4 years, loved it a lot. Of course you have to put up with the noseeums, which bite... but it's the best place to be as far as hurricanes are concerned, they have a way of always hopping over the bay area and crash farther in the mainland... I was there during Andrew and George... and none did a bit of damage, little flooding (about 2 feet at most, and that was right near the causeway, which is surrounded by water) and misty rains, that's all. |
