Who do i contact to get money for a house i want to buy?

usually a credit union offers good rate so you might want to check it out if you are the member of a credit union.

you can also compare rate on the bankrate.com, which has a good number of mortgage brokers and lenders.

saghieh
your local broker, online you hould find one ,

Usually a bank or a mortgage company. Sometimes real estate agents can recommend someone. I tried the online loan thing (where lenders compete for your business), and it ended up being a crock. I paid for the appraisal and got everything in line, then they wouldn't finance it because it had some certain features (that even the expensive houses in my region have). My agent told me of a lady who came in, took all the information, closed the deal in two days, leaving more money in my pocket.

You want a local person to do your loan.

Mom
Usually a bank.

i would go with a bank from the internet cause THEY CAN OFFER THE BEST PRICES

Depending on your credit, any lending institution. If you have great credit, an independent broker or a credit union can set you up. If you have poor credit, be prepared to pay a lot to borrow the money.

Meg...Out of Hybernation
If this is your first home, there are plenty of city and county agencies in most states that would be willing to help defer closing costs and down payments. Try the following link to find homebuyers programs in your state. Once you are a part of the program, they will help you find a lender.

Try lendingtree.com or the bank where you have a checking account.

I bought a house recently and I went through the realtor but I chose a Va loan because I am a veterean, but if I wasn't I would choose a conventional loan

start by calling local martgage companies, interview loan officers until you find one that you feel has answered your quesetions, and you are comfortable with.
