Well technically speaking the lease doesn't say give 30 day notice and find replacement roomie. Thats what the 30 days is for to find someone else. So its really not your responsibility. You or her can post free on craigslist.com though. She should want to look herself since she's the one that has to live with this person not you. |

Your roommate tends to use guilt and manipulation and tends to put her problems on other people (am I right).
You have no responsibility to find her a new roommate. But if you are as evil as I am, you would find her the craziest weirdest person you can.
I mean, she has to live with the new person so she should be looking for the new roommate.
If you are friends then you can work together to find a new person. If you are leaving and helping your roommate find someone then you it will give the new person a good impression. |

Well it is really hers, but I wouldn't want to be left hanging and it can be hard to find another roommate so quickly...so i say help her out because 2 heads are better than one! www.rent.com is a good site to find people to room with i have found my last 2 on there and they turned out great! |

Hey, your room-mate might have asked you to share in the rent that has to be paid to the landlord, but she is welcome to pay the rent all by herself, or find not one but even two room-mates, if she wants! |

Are you giving notice to her? IF so, its probably your job--but if you are giving notice to your LL then its not.
But it also depends on the laws in the area you are in--it would be worth re-reading your original lease--usually if you are breaking a lease where your name is on your lease--than its up to you to find someone but I live in Ontario Canada & that is the law here.
So if you aren't sure after reading your lease, call your local provincial or state government office that deals with your lease laws--your LL will know who they are.
And they can tell you this. |
