Hi,
I have no idea, in fact I have never thought of it that way at all, maybe its a garden thing. We in the UK should start acting a bit more like our European neighbours and realise that we are not an empire anymore but just an Island outside of Europe. In most of europe people live in appartments and think nothing of it. Maybe this is a north/south thing coz I live in the south where we have loads of flats and have never heard of this house snobbery. Maybe its an ex council house thing where you asipred to a house rather than a flat. One of my favorite flats I have ever lived in was on the 13th floor of a tower block in Southampton, I loved it there, now I have a house and I never seem to stop working on the thing. Think I might sell it and buy a flat, in retrospect I think I prefer them. |

Its not second class.. One thing I miss about not living in a flat - you don't have to run upstairs to the loo, or mower the grass! |

Only by the , What sort of phone have you got brigade ? Tell them you have an apartment, they'll think you are dead posh! As an extra tip, casually let it slip out that you have a Dyson AND a Rotary Clothes line and they'll be buying you drinks to court your friendship! |

That's just snobbery. I've had the same thing because I live in a council house and don't own it. Who cares? |
