That is not the most intelligent question I have read here.

The landlord, just like you, has bills, mainly a mortgage. Unlike you he likes to pay his bills on time.

You not paying your rent is the same as your boss deciding to pay you when he feels like it, or not at all if he wants to spend your money on something else.

He has to come up with the money from somewhere else to pay the bills.

I am pretty understanding, but I would be in serious trouble if more then 1-2 of my tenants were late. And while I am fairly easy going I too get pissed off if my credit is at risk. I depend on keeping my credit perfect, if it gets messed up I may not be able to support my family in the manner in which they are accustomed.

Because they need their money. You are violating a legally binding contract by not paying them on time. They have everyright to be super pissed. Pay your rent on time you bum

BECAUSE HE HAS TO PAY THE RENT FOR THE WHOLE BUILDING IF IT HASNT BEEN BOUGHT DUH!
AND IF HE DOESNT PAY ON TIME THEN HE GETS LATE PAYMEBT AND HAS TO PUT MONEY FROM HIS OWN POCKET

I am a LL, and want my rent on time,, I have it due on the 1st or the 15th, If someone is late, I have to call them to remind that they are late, and they get kinda pissed about the call, no matter how nice either my wife or I try to be. I used to charge a buck a day late fee, and some would be late for two weeks, and say that they are paying the fee so why should I care. But when I raised it to $5 a day, that changed real quick,, Of course everyone is late once in a while, so I do allow one late payment a year, without saying anything, I also allow for someone to give me a post dated check, if told in advance..

What renters do not realize, that a motgage payment late is on the LL's credit report, and will raise his credit card rates, along with a sizable penalty payment, Late on tax bill can cost thousands of dollars in fees. Had a loan that if I was 10 days late was an automatic $500 fee and goes up from there.. I was never late.

I find this system works much better than the old one. of a buck a day.

Rent is due on the date specified in the lease contract. Mortgages need to be paid.

The landlord has to make his payment for the building to his lender.

What do you think? The landlord owns the building free and clear and has no expenses related to owning the building.
