I'd say the most important thing is to get any outstanding debts paid off first if you can. That will then obviously reduce your total monthy payments and then may give you a change to get a mortgage with less monthly payments or one for more money. |

Go for it. Renting is a no-no as you pay someone else's mortgage. Property is a sound investment, watch it grow! Buy wisely. |

It's not hard to buy a house if you have the money. Remember you depositing to the house and paying installments with interest on top.
If you search around I'm sure there will be houses available under £120,000. |

Basically, the longer they (estate agents, surveyors, solicitors) drag it out, the more you have to pay them. It's greed on thier part, and they use all sorts of tactics to make you wait, fear of your house falling down, fera that someone might own the brass in the garden (but not the soil), endless rubber paperwork, they make you paranoid about searches and all that stuff.... they make it 100 times harder than it need's to be, meanwhile, they rob you blind !!!
Thier 'costs' and the endless price fixing by estate agents pushes house prices up and up and up.... they get comission, the more you pay for your house the more they get paid ! |

If I was your partner then I would buy a house on my own. If you split up in the future then she has a bit of security for her hard earned money. If you buy together and split up - then you would have half a property which you haven't been able to afford and you'll be leeching off her. But then that's just my personal opinion.
On a practical note - if you can consolidate your debts and make the required payments then buying somewhere is a sensible investment. It's hard to buy a hosue because a) they are overpriced, particularly in London and in Cornwall where I live and b) it's a long term financial commitment which is hard work buy ultimately worth it. |

well good luck, the market is high at the moment, theres not much money to be made in property these days unless you're shrewd enough. But if you're fully commited and prepared to live on the borderline for the forseebale future then take the plunge but you could go into negative equaty for the first few years |
