Well let's see; California has earthwakes, and mudslides Miss has hurricanes, floods and lots of humidity (mold) so we're pretty even on the weather issues But Jobs and money well that's another story. It takes money to make money and unfortunately Miss just doesnt have the jobs with the kind of money that Cal has I think that's supply and demand economics. Leaving aside the more pleasant climate and the diversity of job opportunities, the reason California real estate is more expensive than Mississippi is that more people want to live there and they make more money.
See the US census numbers cited: California is 13th and Mississippi is 49th in personal income.
I can also tell you that there is little to no chance that the house in Malibu or Santa Barbara will ever be selling for less than a much larger mansion in Mississippi unless the Pacific Ocean moves! |
