Rebecca C | Why renting home so expensive? |
|

well when you rent the house you have to pay the owners morgage payment, there taxes, insurance, advertising, and they want to make alittle money out of it too. much cheaper to buy then rent. |

Compared to buying in my state California Renting is a bargain . My neighbor pays all most twice what I do to purchase a condo. The home around the block is 1.5 million for a fixer upper ,and the down payment 15 to 30 % or more ( First time buyers not a chance) .
If you have the cash invest in a sure thing ***real estate *** the price will never go down they say . But it did stop flat for many months in the late seventies after the oil problems then.
Couldn't happen again could it ! |

There are a lot of reasons why landlords charge so much to rent. Taxes, mortgage payments and upkeep are just a few. You might check with HUD or FHA to find out about qualifying for a home loan to purchase you a house. |

Probably because the price of houses are so high and the landlord needs to cover the cost of his mortgage on the house plus many more expenses such as property taxes, home owner insurance, and possible expense incurred from renters damaging the house. |

It's the buying season of the year so if you're trying to or currently moving or renting then it's going to be quite expensive. |
|

?

There's taxes too and any other city costs and legal costs of upkeep of the home. You might as well buy one. |

Like Chris M. said, renting (in CA) is MUCH cheaper than buying. An apartment next door is on the market for over $700,000. About 4 times what I pay for rent with less space.
If you are looking to buy, wait for the prices to drop. They always do, and it becomes a buyers' market again. |

First, many people are looking for homes. Then there are expensive construction materials. There are huge taxes from real estate, to land taxes, and even local revenue taxes. And lastly, population growth is greatly increasing while housing projects is only a few. |
