Putting the "Sold" or "Under Contract" or "Contract Pending" or various other options is solely the decision of you and your RE Agent or Broker's organization.
In today's market, often that signage is not placed just in case the offer/deal falls through.
The "Sold" or similar signage could keep a drive-by customer from pursuing getting more info on the property.
Many Realty organizations will often indictate to customers that the property is "under contract" when a call-in inquiry is made, but will indicate that "back-up offers are being accepted" ...just in case.
So, don't feel bad if the signage doesn't go up. It could be in your favor in the long run.

Usually when a deal is accepted the sold sign will go up.. however my friend has just bought a house across the road from me and the sold sign still isnt on it.. the sign is still up.. and her offer was accepted etc..
the fact that the sign is still up is strange i would have thought!! |

Most UK estate agents will put the 'sold' sign up almost immediately, though it should say 'subject to contract' on the board. As well as informing prospective buyers that a sale has been agreed, it's also their way of advertising their ability to sell, therefore encouraging people to market their property with them etc. |
