hotgirl_rightgirl00 | Will the bank accept this offer? |
Yesterday I placed a 74,900 bid for a house that was listed for 79,900. It has been listed for only 8 days and it is bank owned. Do you think that the bank will consider this bid, being that it is less than they want and I am their first offer? I live in Michigan where there are a lot of foreclosures and short sales.
The comparsion of the area is 91,000 and the house is appraised @ 98,000. |

if it's a foreclosure it doesn't matter what the appraisal is, the bank just wants to recover their investment and expenses. they probably listed it for 5-10% more than what they are willing to sell it for, so you can do the math, but in Michigan right now, I would think the bank is probably desperate to get rid of the property. |

Sure, you asked this already, and I gave an answer before. Quit worrying about it. If they don't accept the offer, than you don't buy the house. You can always make another offer. |

They will split the difference. |

Possibly, but since it is listed as priced to sell (meaning the sales price is listed well below market value) they may not especially given that it's only been on the market 8 days.
If they don't accept, getting a home for $79,900 when it's worth $98,000 is still an awsome deal - don't pass it up. |

No way to tell. They will have to decide whether they can get a better deal by holding out -- and it will have to be enough better to justify their continued investment in the property. |

I'm in the UK. I think that Banks have to consider 'every offer' and, as my understanding of these things goes, Banks often sell off this kind of property at a loss where, if they hadn't forced out the purchasers, they'd have got their money back - in the long run.
They just seem willing to settle for the short term 'loss.'
Sash. (I like UP land, by the way - driving over the Mackinaw Bridge and up to the Sault ~ and enjoyed ''The Antlers'' restaurant there too) |

Depend on your ability to pay, and any other offers they get. The market is good for bargains, but banks are becoming stricter on mortgages with all the foreclosures. See if you can find out the amount that was defaulted on the last mortgage holder( value minus what was already paid by previous owner) |

I'd say you have a very good shot at the Bank accepting your offer, providing YOU qualify for the mtg and there are no contingencies in the offer. The bank doesn't want to hold on to this property for long, they have to keep it insured, maintain it etc, but they usually sell them "As Is"
Goos Luck with your purchase |

Depends how much interest people show in the property. If there isn't much, then they'll probably accept it, if not, they won't. Not as simple as that I know but that'll be the basics of it. |

that is less than10% less than what they are asking so YES! they will accept it.
Congratulations on your new house! |

Very possible, if no one out bids you. Keep an eye on it. |

You have made your offer to the bank re: a bid. If no one else has place a bid higher than yours they may except it or reject it.
If the home was worth 98,000. Then they must sell it at that price. I`m affraid the home is not worth more than the asking price. |
