With lease property how do you know who owns the land?

PushDownAndTurn
the title holder owns the land

kgreives
You should be able to check on line through your local tax office, or you can go to the public records office and inquire there.

Go to the conveyance office, wher there are books on who owns what in the way of real estate. These are public records.

If you're renting, your agreement should show it, otherwise ask the agent or whoever collects the rent.

damari_8
Your local cuncil will be able to tell you.

I'm not sure I follow the question. Are you leasing property and you're not sure if the person you pay the rent to is actually the owner? If this is the question, land titles are public record. You can look it up at the court house or on-line if your county offers that service.

Land registry can tell you. You can get the deeds for a couple of quid from the landregistry.gov.uk site

It might also say in your lease contract.

Why do you need to know, it doesn't belong to any lease holder if thats what you are thinking, it belongs to the freeholder.

A lease is just a long term "right to use", you don't own anything, other than a right.

CHRIS S
do a land register check on the address

jo_icsl
this should appear on the land certificate

sittin.on23s
donald trump proably owns it
