Would you buy a piece of land on mars and why?

90028 CA
no cuz i dont need it.

Convince Pete
No I wouldn't. Mars is for the blue bloods, thats where they came from to begin with. Thats why they have no rythnm because they are not in tune with this planet, but in Mars they are in sync. Deep!

no, its just our consumer generation getting carried away with itself, who has the right to say they own that planet in the first place to sell sections of it. no one (from earth) has been there to claim it yet. i expect it is just a fad. i wouldnt think any of us would get the privilige in our lifetime to go into space anyways, unless your an astronaut.

No, mainly for the following reasons.

You can't
I don't have a reason to.
I probably couldn't afford it if I wanted to.

Simpsmoney
No. I assume that you want to buy land on Mars hoping one day that it would be colonized and that land that you bought for pennies would be worth millions. It would cost millions, if not billions to develop the land on Mars. If you don't plan on developing the land, then you are just speculating. Also, there is no guarantee that we will ever get to Mars, what happens to all of the money you paid for land on Mars? If you did buy land on Mars, I would write into the contract that after 50 years if we haven't been to Mars then the person selling you the land on Mars would pay you what you paid in principal and interest, plus 6.5% interest on top of that. Of course, after 50 years, your money is gone, the company selling Martian land has declared bankruptcy and the people pointing at you and laughing are laughing at you, not with you.

I would buy some land on Mars, because it's much better than Uranus.

yes even the swamp in Florida people bought in the 60and 70 because that were scammed, made money after all that swamp land is now Walt Disney world Florida. And the stuff in Miami is now 200,000 plus an acre.
The government would have to pay me to build or do anything on my land and don't think that they won't figure it out how to get us there.

No I wouldn't cos it would be a B l oo dy waste of my hard earned cash. That sort of thing is for the rich folks, sports stars and so on and so forth cos they have no use for their money.

Yes to get away from the morons in this country and all the immigrants, crime etc. I'll be on the next rocket outta here!

You don't need to buy it because no one owns it. You can just go there and claim what you want of it.

NO not at all. I just love mother earth and want to be in such a position when Iam able to buy a piece of land in the richest corners of earth. This is the best planet and no other planet deserves to have a payment for some piece of land. :)

ne_plus_ultra_1
I have a lovely 40 acre plot for sale on Mars currently. Majestic views, rolling hills, mountains in the distance, occassional sandstorm...

Asking price: $1,000,000.00 US

Call me.

It's cheaper than to buy it on Earth. So far, at least.

Meklar
If I could, then it would just depend how much it cost. For example, if I could buy all of Olympus Mons for $10, I'd do it, because eventually that land is going to be worth a lot more. But the fact is, I can't. So far there are no laws saying people can own extraterrestrial real estate.

Isadora
No way!!!! what for????
why?
Don´t see a good reason for that!

The Banshee

yes I would, pending the price....... i would buy it just for the hell of it but if i managed to get ther I would have my own 'mars bar' farm and make an absolute killin'!!!!!!!!!!!

Hell no...if I can't at least visit my plot there's no point in buying it. It's like those idiots who are selling stars...what a con!

^crash_&_burn^
yah, why not. if its possible and if i have the money then why not.

crazy25
Because it belonged to my ancestor. I supposedly came from Mars!

No, because the weathers really bad and the flights really expensive

Stephanie
No because I'm probably never going to Mars. It's like buying a star, it sounds cool but it's pointless.

robertminidriver

No, because the potential for profit won't be realized in your lifetime and your progeny would profit more from cold, hard cash rather than mars real estate.

avocadoadam
i would buy it only if i can live on it
