M | Would you live in a motor home? |
I'm thinking of buying one and renting it out. Maybe a 19' one. |

As a rental? Maybe, but the rent would have to be pretty darn good. It would also have to have full hookups including electric, water and sewage. |

I think it would be fun for a vacation. But I would go crazy living in a little confined space like that. |

I dont think I could live in a motor home b/c I am just the peranoid type I always think about the good and the bad of it, I would feel like someone would break into the motor home and hurt my kids or myself or something bad would happen. I think it would be nice if you are on vacation but still the way the world has become its scarry to live in ur own home or take ur kids to school hopeing and praying nothing bad will happen to them!! Just my thought!! |

I don't think that buying one to rent out is a good idea. People who live in motor homes are usually people who do not want to rent an apartment anymore because they want more independence; however they can't afford a house. So, they buy a mobile home. I see no reason why someone would want to rent a mobile home, they would be better off renting an apartment. |

I don't think you would have much luck renting a 19' motor home.We have a 28' motor home we sometimes use on vacation and it really gets small after a few days. The only way I can see you renting it out is if you have a lot that you can put it on at the beach or in the mountains and that would even be hard to do.If you want one to use for your family I would say go for it.If you are looking to rent it out I would say forget about it. |

My mom and stepfather had a beautiful 4 level cedar home, he was murdered and about a year later my mom decided to sell the home and buy an RV. i thought (and still think) the idea was ridiculous. Dont get me wrong its a nice RV, but i just dont see the RV gaining value over the years like a home will. She lived in Texas and we have family in florida so she put all her stuff in storage and moved it down to florida where she is living in an RV park.....it would be nice if she had an actual house plus the RV. with the RV she can go wherever she wants though so thats a plus. |

The bad thing about renting a motor home is that it is mobile. Your renters could take your motor home thousands of miles away and you would never find it.
I have a friend that does repos, and he says that motor homes are the toughest to find and get.
Back to your original question, could I live in a motor home? Sure. |

I could easily do it...I lived aboard a cruiser in the Navy for 3 years and a motor home is about 50 times the space they gave me there. My dad did it for years....traveled the US in the summer and stayed in Mesa AZ as a "snowbird" for the remainder of the year. Good times! |

If you're out west, I would think a snow bird would rent it. |
