rehgyirt | Would you trust an 18 year old real estate agent?? |
if not why?
my friend wants to be a real estate agent when he turns 18 and after two years he wants to be a broker. so he'll eventualy be a 21 year old broker.
would you trust him or would you try to find someone who is older? |

No. Sorry, just being honest. People who are making major financial decisions like to think that the person assisting them has years worth of experience. Someone who is 18 years old clearly doesn't have those years of experience. So, even though your friend might do well, and he may very well know what he is talking about, I wouldn't buy a home from him.
Not being judgemen......Wait, yes I am. Its hundreds of thousands of dollars of my money. And he is getting 3-6% of it! You're darn tootin I'm being judgemental! |

Many many variables involved in choosing an agent. Your call.

Trust is not an issue. If the agent is doing their job legally then they aren't giving advice and they only need tell the truth. Anyone can lie at any age.
A younger person who is honest can do real well because they are more enthusiastic and eager to look and show for properties. Who wants an old agent who is a slug? |

Hard to answer without knowing anything about the guy. Would you consider him a competent human being? If so, then he will probably be a competent real estate.
I can speak for myself as a new agent (I'm 25). It's not that difficult to learn the right way to do things if you take advantage of the training you get. Also, anytime I have any questions or need any help there are tons of people in my office who are happy to help. I've closed 4 transactions so far, and I know my clients were very happy with the service they got from this brand new agent. |

It depends on his demeanor. If he is professional, ethical and tenacious, I don't care if he is 18 or 80 - he will get business.
If he has piercings, visible tattoos, a smart attitude and a tuner car with loud pipes - not a chance. |

they would need to go to school for these things ... and it depends on if they sounded, looked and acted professional and knew what they were doing ... age is just a number .. maturity is what counts |

If he looks and acts maturely, then yes I would trust him. |

How old does your friend look and does he act professional? There would be no reason for anyone to know his age.
I am a 32 year old real estate agent, I look much younger than I am and some people have commented that I might not have the experience because of my looks. It has just made me do that much better to prove my worth. Now I am very successful and have a growing client base.
I say go for it. Best of luck |

It isn't really a matter of trust, but he would have to be very sophisticated intellectually. I would probably test him with a few questions and if, based on his answers, I would feel like he would be learning more from me than I from him, I would pass.
Tough industry to get into right now, by the way. He will have to be extraordinary, in my opinion. |
|

This is how I rock...
 |
i would. but then again i am 21 and just bought my first house...it depends on who they are. if they are very mature then yes i would trust them. |
