Here's the short version: my parents bought my sister a house with the intention of having her pay rent. She had five children and went through two dead beat husbands. She has not paid rent or worked in ten years. My brother has never worked either, my parents have been paying for his education for six years. He has been going to community college for six years. Meanwhile, my parents have never contributed to my education or assisted me financially in any manner. It has torn me away from my family and made me extremely resentful. My question, do I have any legal right to request fair financial assistance, similar to that which my siblings have received? When I have discussed it with my parents, my mother gets extremely defensive and starts sobbing. It never goes anywhere. I am 28, a newlywed, and I have worked full-time since I was 18 years old. I began working part-time when I was 14. Due to the fact that I have never had any help from my parents, I am still working on finishing my B.A. degree.
