My Take on It

Realtor and agent are the same thing..just different names for it.
Unlike being a dietician, being a realtor is commission only. If you do not sell a property, you make no money. You also have to put some of your own money up front to advertise the properties that you are marketing.
You would have to have a license wherever you go and want to do business. So, if you have a California real estate license, you couldn't just go to Florida and start selling property. You would have to take their test as well. So, unless you want to get a lot of different licenses under your belt, it might not be that fun having to essentially start over moving around alot. Also, being in one place and knowing the neighborhoods and market is more of a plus rather than moving around. People look for an agent who knows the area and knows what they are doing. If you are a newbie to the area, that will be hard for you because you won't have a track record or the same connections with people that you would have if you pick a place to live and work with and get to know it inside out. Being a realtor is all about having connections. You cannot build that if you are moving around alot. |
