hi. i am about to be evicted by my landlord for non-payment of rent. we are currently 6 days late as rent was due on the 1st. over the course of the past few months i have lost my job, had the transmission in my wife's car go out, and had a death in the family which all have contributed to the depletion of our savings and being forced to live check to check. we moved into our house on march 1st 2011. we have been late with the rent two of the four months we have lived here. upon moving in, we paid the first months rent, last months rent and security deposit for a 1 year lease. my question is, how long does the eviction process take, and also, do i get my last months rent back or get it applied to this months rent legally? we plan on paying the rent but cannot pay by tomorrow and the landlord said they will be here tomorrow with the police to evict us. i have told them my next payday is within 8 days and can pay the rent in full then with late fees. thanks in advance for your time!
