The only time a lessor can show a property that your moving out of is if it clearly states it in the lease. Some leases do and some don't read your over carefully. Otherwise it your call. You don't have to let them show the property while your living in it if your lease does not state that they may. |

I have been doing this for 20 years and have NEVER had a client or persepctive renter steal anything from a house.
You are being overly paranoid. If you are that freaked out about people stealing your things, then you need to carry renters insurance.
Your landlord has to be with the people viewing the apartment and has to give you a 24 hour notice..and they don't need your permission either. |

YES you do. They have every right to start showing the property starting the day you give notice. They cannot go through your personal belongings but you have to allow them to look around & in closets. All you can do is put away any thing you do not want them to see. They have no right to go into any drawers.
The landlord needs to give you 24 hrs notice before all showings but that is it. You do not have to agree to it or be there. A phone message is legal in most states. |
