Its not the store's fault, they shouldn't have to bite it on this. They won't be able to resell it once it's open, defective or not. I say no refund. |

If he had the cash, they had no reason not to sell it to him. For all they know, he got the money from you. You will most likely not get a full refund if it's open and not defective, possibly will be able to return it with a 15% restocking fee.
You might have a better chance selling it on eBay, or to a local game shop, especially if it was his money. Then buy yourself something nice. |

There is no law saying you cant sell things to a child of any amount, if he paid with credit card then that is a different story |

By asking very nicely.
Going in mad at them will do nothing. Your Child paid for an item they sold. They have no requirement to undo the sale because you do not like it. |

No law against it, it's just a game, it's like buying a pair of shoes, or an expensive jacket. |

you don't need permission to buy that kind of stuff, the manager does not have to give you a refund. there's no reason he should. |

There isn't a legal spending limit based on age. The idea of wanting such a law also seems against the ideology of a free society. However how you raise your child is your business. Though, if the child spent his money on a item that he could legally buy, then why should the store lose money buy giving a full refund for something they cannot resell at full price? I don't see a legal or moral basis for it. Pay the restocking fee, and move on. |

legally yes they can, but store policy might not be the same. |

Well, you can always sell the PSP on ebay if they dont give a refund. Why shouldnt a store sell items to a kid? |

A kid can buy anything except for alcohol and cigarettes. SO don't bother. I hope you have the reciept. I doubt you'll get a full refund. |

As long as it wasn't on a fraudulent credit card, there's no problem.
If he obtained the money legally, then you have no power to tell him what to do with it. He will end up resenting you (rightfully so too) |

Well a store usually will sell almost anything to a child because the cashire can't predect the age of the child. And for ways to get the manager to let you return it is to ask them if you can exchange the psp for a gift card or store credit for $200. |

Sorry i don't think there's much you can do... I never really thought about this before but I sort of agree with it being wrong now that I think about it. |

I'm sure if you do have a word with the district manager you will get a full refund. If not any person under the age of 18 can legally back out of a contract (including previous purchase agreement). As far as I know your child is entitled to a full refund, especially if the product is still in the condition it was purchased. |
