I am selling an item on eBay. I am allowed to wait to recieve the payment before I ship it? This way, I know I won't get scammed because the bidder has been a member for a year but hasn't bought or sold anything yet, so to me for some reason it kind of seems fishy. So, am I allowed to wait until I recieve the payment before I ship it?

Of course you're allowed to wait. If no payment within 10 days, report the item unpaid and relist it.
Sorry you got stuck with a zero feedback bidder your first time around! It doesn't happen very often and I have never had to do what I said above! Ebay is awesome |

You have to receive your payment before you ship. If you do not receive a payment, DO NOT ship the merchandise.
eBay works just like any webstore, first they get paid, then they ship. If they are paying by Paypal make sure they have a Confirmed Address, if it is not confirmed (even though it shows delivered) and the person said they never made the purchase, Paypal will NOT protect you.
If the item is worth more than $250, you must require signature upon delivery, otherwise, Paypal will not protect you.
You have to be careful with Paypal, they state that they will protect you but you MUST follow their guidelines to the dot. |

Ofcource, you wait for the payment then ship. And if there needs to be a return, the buyer sends the item back first then you give their money back. |

um YES, doesn't matter how long they have been a member, you always recieve payment first.
IF your using paypal, and you suspicious you can wait like 7 days after he pays to ship it, to make sure it was not paid with a stolen account.
but a member for a year and no wins/sales is not suspicous, a member for 2 days is. |

That's pretty standard operating procedure on ebay to not ship until payment is received (and cleared if it's a check). |

yeah. i used to sell on ebay ALL the time. I never, ever shipped until i rec'd payment. i sent the buyer an email stating this. Once payment went through, I shipped out on my next shipping day. I only shipped 2x's a week... wed and sat. |

yes, I do, and I specify that in my auction that I will ship once payment clears my bank. You have that right to protect yourself. |
