All these "work from home" ads are they too good to be true?

Is there anyone out there who makes so much money from these "work from home" companies? I mean true legitimate income. Seems to me like they are cons and scams.

I was just reading an article about the top 10 scams of 2007. Work at home scams are moving up the list. There are too many people out there running scams and far too few legit places.

I spend all day, every day looking for legitimate free online income and I found a few www.online-richgirl.wetpaint.com well worth checking out .

Most of them are. Yes. They are legit businesses but you usually dont get rich. My aunt tried the mail from home, where she basically licked envelopes all day, and barely broke even.

yes they are. these shady companies make money off of people buying their kits and supplies

The only people that are making money from home off of those companies are the people that own them and are making money off all of the people that work for them and bust their butts to make a little $.

Not everything is scam. They are out there so you just have to do your research and find out if an opportunity is for you.

Not everyone is making millions, there are those that are, but then there are those just getting started or those that are happy with just a few thousand extra a month.

I think it depends on the individual, how driven they are, how easily they are influenced by others and if they are determined to make it....cause if your determined, then you'll make it to your goal.

Personally, Im happy with my smaller business, I don't have to work, but I enjoy having the extra income that allows me to splurge on the kids or just buy me those cute pair of shoes!!

Yes they are too good to be true, but there is legitimate work out there. These companies typically do not advertise for their jobs like what you have seen. I figure if they have to advertise it like that it's not legit. For a good list of legitimate companies that hire home workers go to http://workathomedesk.com - which is a free site. They also have updated job leads. I have found many companies to apply with there. Good luck!

You DO have to be careful...there ARE some things that are ok...but they are few and far between...

When you look at an opportunity, apply some common sense questions...for example.."mail from home programs"...think about it..there is machinery that can automate mailings many times greater than anything manual...anything 'legit' wouldn't need "home workers"

Same with "assembling products at home"...machinery, mass production, and automation can WAY out do anything manual...these companies (in my experience) charge one for the materials but manage to 'reject' so much production they never end up paying out more than they take in!

In my experience, if you are looking to work at home, it's best to develop your OWN ideas and create your OWN business.

Some positive work at home projects would be PARTY PLAN selling...Tupperware, Mary Kay, Several Candle companies, Gift companies...but technically this isn't working from home.

Another legit (though not technically work at home) opportunity is to become a "Mystery shopper"...you can pick up some nice spare time cash and also some free meals, and or gas and or merchandise in the process...HOWEVER...beware of sites "offering" you this opportunity for a FEE...I would personally steer clear of these sites...anyone 'legit' wants to pay YOU...not vice versa.

It's FREE to join and they offer lots of support and pay honestly.

If you truely want to work from home, (say using your computer) you can consider starting your own 'service' business...if you have particular skills..typing, resume creation, programming, web page creation, graphics creation...etc.

You can put a small ad in the classifieds "business services" section of your local newspaper(s) OR mail promotional post cards to businesses...OR just call them! Once you get enough 'clients' to keep you as busy as you want to be then you are set.

The above isn't very 'imaginative' but it works.
