I have had my home-based business for over 7 years. Everyone likes my products and I even started a website www.newbornexpression.com. Because I am creating the site myself, all of my pages are not completed? I still feel that I have waited long enough. I feel like I am ready, but I don't want to start without having everything intact. Am I just making excuses or should I start with what I have and accept the outcome?

I forgot to mention that even though I have been in business for 7 years, I never really promoted my business. I have sold a few product here and there, but never really did any advertising. I started the website to help promote my business, but now I am starting to have doubts, or more less, fear.
In the same sense, I feel that I have waited long enough. However, I do not want to make a decision based on personal feeling and not business knowledge. |

Perfection paralysis keeps many people from being successful. I don't know if thats an issue with you or not, being that you have been in business for 7 years.
As far as starting to promote your website before its all done, yes, absolutely start on it. It doesn't happen over night, and the longer you delay upfront, the longer it will take before you start seeing any results. What you can do is make it a point to schedule a set of tasks each day, and make sure they are done at the end of the day, even if not perfect.
The other thing, is change is constant in website development. Products come and go, marketing promotions come and go, it is better to be out there, and change, than it is to wait for perfection.
That being said, I did take a look at your website. Based upon the prices I saw, either you are drop shipping from an offshore import firm, or you are going to be in a world of hurt profitability wise. I suggest going to see a counselor at www.score.org right away. Finance is such a key part of business, and unless you are Walmart, volume does not make up for low margins. |

I started a cleaning company 11 years ago with what I had (and that wasn't much). I did my business through friends & family of mine, as well as, current and previous employers.
I am, currently, working on a website to improve business and, they are not easy unless you are a webmaster. They can take quite a bit of time and it would be a good thing to show pictures of items that you actually have or have put together yourself. Pictures that are found on the web and other places can be much better than the ones you actually do. What the viewers see on your website is what the viewer is going to expect being sold to them.
Alot of the pics on my website will have to be changed, because I know I won't be able to do everything the exact same way as in the pic. Of course, nothing turns out to be exactly the same each and every time it is completed. So, I am hoping that I can do close to the pictures that are on my website. I hope this helps you a little bit anyway. |

Make sure you have everything in order before you embark on this great venture. You seem to know what you are doing if you have been doing this for 7 years and you are making a profit. Go for it! Best wishes! Any legitimate home business that is still going after 7 years-sounds like a winner to me. |
