Am I to old to think about staying my own business?
I would like to start my own Business.Am I too old? I turned 54 in October. I would like to start up a small business that helps people who have handicapped children or a parent that is getting up in years,but when I went to see about starting something the "gentleman"{I use that term loosely} told me that "Women Are not Smart Enough To Do Something like that on their own there should be a MAN!!!!!!!! IN CHARGE. I was totally PISSED OFF.What do you think?

You are not too old and women run businesses on a daily basis. Forget about that jerk. He isn't worth wasting anymore time or energy on, and he probably meant to tick you off anyway. Don't give him the satisfaction. I will say this though. The economy is not in great shape right now. So, starting a business that will last may be difficult right now. If you wait and play your cards right, you may be able to get more funding once things straighten out a bit. Putting the idea on the back burner may give you more time to think about how/what you would like to do with business. Sort of "get your ducks in a row." Good luck to you!
