How about running a competition in your area through your local newspapers, or with local secondary schools/colleges etc to get all the locals to come up with a name.
That way you get free PR in the local newspapers, school/college newsletters etc both announcing the competition in the first place and then announcing the winner, perhaps with a photo of you handing the competition winner their prize (which doesn't have to be expensive - how about an MP3 player for a tenner?) and if you get photographed with the winning name/logo being held up too then it gets it in front of people right from the start. then once they start to see your business up and running they will already be familiar with the logo/name etc and your business will have instant credibility.
This is just an idea - adapt it at will! |

Some good naming principles for you ... In a competitive industry it's always useful to start your company name with the letter A ... that way you will finish higher up search listings. They also say the letter L is the most melodic sounding letter of the alphabet. Anything with the letter S, E, X are always good for instant recognition. Lastly, it's always useful if your company name has an association with the industry you operate it. I personally think quite a lot of this is bollocks :) But some people swear by it.
The brand Lexus is nearly close to perfection ... the only that lets it down is it doesn't have an immediate association with the car industry.
As for suggestions ... really depends on the end of the market you are focusing on. If you are gonna charge low prices and you get most business from yellow pages, gumtree, etc, your name should emphasise that you deliver a good clean up at an affordable price (e.g. Easy Clean, Value Housekeeping) ... if at the more premium end of the market where you operate through word of mouth cleaning rich people's houses, express the premium side to your company name (e.g. Perfect Cleaning Services, Platinum Housekeeping). |
