Any tips for selling on E-Bay ???
To sell anything on E-Bay, what tips and suggestions do you have to market your product better?

ALWAYS research what you are selling before you put it up. The best way to do this is an Advanced Search on ebay. Check the box that says "completed listings only" and type in whatever you plan to sell. This way, you can see the amounts that your item sold for, whether it is WORTH selling, and how much you should start bidding at. Also, I've had the best luck with 3 - 5 day auctions, never pay extra for an extended listing unless it is something that is really expensive. If you use a mac, GarageSale makes your listings more attractive and no coding is needed so your listings go up faster (I guess TurboLister would be the PC alternative). Other than that, it is trial and error. OH also, when you do the advance search, check out the listings that ended for additional info on your product. The more info you provide about whatever your selling, the more bids you will tend to get.

Hope this help and good luck selling!!

If you are selling something that cost more than $20, use the bells and whistles they offer. This includes a picture, a border around the box, etc. Eye candy basically. Also, make sure you are priced correctly.

I would also suggest looking at non-Ebay sites. For example, I sell a lot of equipment on Amazon.com with a seller account. The nice thing about that there is no listing fee. If it does not sell, you do not pay. The commission you pay Amazon is a little higher and the shipping costs are fixed, so it is not always as good of a deal. On Ebay, I usually make as much money on the 'Handling Fees' as on the actual sale. You can even list on both. Just put a note on the bid saying that the item is listed somewhere else and could be sold prior to the bid ending. I have never had that happen though. If you sell it on one, immediately retract it from the other.

The best thing you can do is describe the item exactly and use the words that you think people would type in to get to that item. Like if you were wanting to sell a radio put words like boom box or sound system in the description so it will show up. Do give the shipping a fair price because I hate when people over charge you just because they don't get as much for their item as they wanted.

be very clear about what you are selling. not doing so will get you in trouble. If people have to question somthing about your product, they will probably move on. People are cautious about what they buy online. Always provide a picture of what you are selling. Use a gallery photo as well. well thats the basics, the rest will come as you go.

Include a picture, write a good description, make the shipping price fair.

If you are really serious then I think you should take this course. It is complete with DVD's, and notebooks, plus you get an 800 number you can call with all your questions.

The first thing is to keep your starting prices low. That's what attracts bids. Make the most of the searchable title desciption to what people are looking for... use makes and models when applicable, skip the WOW and other characters, and keep it professional. In your description be totally honest. Sell the product fairly and state how it benefits the buyer. Offer prompt shipping. Keep shipping reasonable. Treat the buyer like you would want to be treated and since it's a business, stand behind your products and offer 100% customer service with prompt replies to questions or problems. Cross promote other items within your ads by mentioning "also on auction is...."

important thing is to find your product. you have to be the cheapest. if you have a unique, special source that nobody else knows about and your price is the most affordable, you can be almost certain that a huge percentage of the buyers will bid on your item.

of course a nice looking post, good feedback score and low shipping rates will also help boost your sales.
