So, There is a new Dunkin Donut's opening near me, and I got an application, and turned it in. But im really paranoid that I won't get the job. I haven't been contacted yet, and the store is opening up soon. I also gave in my working papers along with my application to an employee at the store that I was told to drop it off. Was that a bad choice to give it to them, rather than the manager?
Im just really nervous that I will not get this job, and if I don't do I need to get new working papers for another job I go to? Is there anyway to make sure my application was viewed?

Is it ok to do the follow up if I'm 16? The follow up seems like its required for higher jobs than just Dunkin Donuts. But thanks for all of the answers so far! |

You need to make a follow up phone call or visit. I recommend the visit. The persistent people are the ones who generally get the jobs. |

Call them, ask to speak to the manager, and tell him/her you submitted an application and wanted to know if the job is still available. It shows you are really interested in the position. You never know unless you ask, and it can't hurt to ask either. Good Luck! |

Your best bet is persistence...and by all means, talk to the Manager and sell yourself. Explain why the company would be benefiting from hiring you. |

Speak with the store manager and let him/her know that you've submitted your application via an employee. Ask if he/she gets a chance to view your papers. However, bring an extra set of papers with you just in case the papers you've submitted have been misplaced. This would save you time having to visit the store again and re-submit. |

mate i work for a employment agency- here is some first hand assistance for you- If you apply for a job you should always follow up with the employer 5 days after the application/Interview. Ususally if they have decided to take somone on, and they dont work out then you ring they will tell you to come in for a trial. |

It's standard practice to make a call to the manager and check up. It lets them know you're interested, and even better stop in. |

Following up is ALWAYS a good thing to do. Call them back and ask to speak with a manager regarding your application. It shows dligence and determination, and just how interested you are about getting a job. It gets you more POINTS with the manager! |

You need to just keep applying. The more jobs you apply to obviously means the more calls you'll get. Don't get wrapped up in one job, but do call and inquire if you really would like the job. |

1) First, I'd go by the store, see if the manager is there at that time, and introduce yourself. "Hi, I'm....(so & so.) I turned in my application (last week), and wondered if you had any questions about it." If he says the job is taken, ask for your working papers back!! If they're still deciding, say how interested you are in the job & you hope s/he'll consider you for it!
2) If the manager is not there, ask the acting manager if the position has been filled, yet. If so, ask if you can get your working papers back. If not, ask if that person knows when they're planning to interview for the position.
3) Probably, you'll need to fill out more working papers, so you might go ahead & do that, anyway, if it's not too time-consuming, for you.
