Are any of those home base business you see advertised legitimate or just another scam?

Some are legit, but you have to really search to find them. I just started a group where real work at home jobs can advertise and people looking for real one can join. It is the hop-scotch_group. feel free to join.

The company is called YTB which has a bill of rights, Member of BBB and has it on stock YTBL. Which, I check out before I started my own business. This is a legit business!!! Almost surely all scams. I stumbled upon a website once that was an open forum review of many such offers and merchandise. If I find it somewhere in my favorites I'll come back and let you know. Otherwise yahoo search on "fraud alert" "scam checker" or some other descriptives and I bey you find it. If they're not outright scams... you need to work your butt off, be lucky as a lottery winner... or both... to make a go of it.

I think most are scams - you need to be very careful. Research them on the BBB site and ask ask ask. I'm involved with a homebased business that is profitable and rewarding - but you actually have to "work". Wow, the kind of question you are asking here makes you really vulnerable because people who are hungry for your money will be here presenting to you with many opportunities which some could be scam too.

Some are scam and some are not...most of the time you would need to mention the opportunity so people who have come across them can give u the answers. It's too broad a question you are asking...

Make sure you research for whatever opportunity that is presented to you before you decide to head on for it or even pay for a scam like me a couple of months ago. Just go to google and type in the "opportunity" followed by the word "scam".

If things shows, it could be ugly...stay away from them...

Well there are many ways people make money without paying anything upfront:
If you own a blog or website...
1.) You can join Adsense and put up google advertisement..they used to pay well but now..for every click you might only get a couple of cents...and unless your website has lots of traffic..i feel it's not worth the space..what kind of information do you need about adsense..my suggestion is it's not worth pursuing...

2.) You can join affiliate programs and put up advertisements or recommendations that pays you 10 times more than adsense.

If you want to make money online, you can do some freelancing work. I am not sure about your experience or what kind of job skills you possess.

There is also another way called affiliate marketing where you can make a living online without your own products which I have been doing for the last couple of years....

With the power of internet. You can join Citibank as an affiliate and promote their credit card facilities through a link and they will pay you handsomely for it.

One of the best places to find all kinds or products you can find to promote is CJ.com (commission junction)... CJ.com has lots of products you can choose from....from big names like Citibank and such...

You join them and they give you a unique link which is unique only to you...All you have to do is to promote the link for people to click and visit. If your visitors buys another product through your link..you are instantly accredited some commission.

Probably about 90% of home based businesses are legitimate. Sure there are some scams out there but I don't think people truly know the difference between being scammed or just being lazy. Many purchase the start up kit and expect the business to run itself. If it were only that simple!
There are many huge companies out there that have been in business for many years. Do you really think the government would just let them keep scamming people year after year? I think not. Most of them are under the microscope and have to follow a long list of policies and procedures in order to stay in operation.
A scam is easy to spot. Usually they want you to send them a pile of money for information and are very secretive about what they do. That's a scam.
On the other hand, if a company asks you for an up-front fee in order to buy a kit, proves to you that the training and marketing tools are in place, it is not a scam. You have to expect an investment when purchasing a business, you don't ever get something for nothing.
I have worked many home based businesses and if you are willing to do what it takes, ie, run it as a REAL business, which it is, you will earn far more than you ever could in a regular job (just over broke).
